Pro Materia is a design consultancy agency based in Belgium. Set up by Lise Coirier in 1999 it aims to promote creativity and contemporary design and design-led crafts on an international scale. In doing so, it curates and hosts exhibitions, publishes books, holds conferences and generally helps develop and push its select clients out to a wider audience by branding names and high end concepts. Its events and concepts have included the likes of "Belgian Designer Rooms" at thewhitehotel and its online boutique thewhitehotelselection.com, "Human Cities" on sustainable urban design, "Design Kiosks" and "Authentic Belgian Creativity" (ABC) dedicated to Belgian design brands and emerging talents on international fairs, among a long, long list of others. From interior architects to designers, fashion designers, writers, photographers..., its intention is to support Belgian design more firmly on the global stage. “Rouge Design”, Pro Materia’s newly launched company working closely with Paris-based trends agency, NellyRodi, provides also brands with trend books and advice on everything they need to know to be successful in their business in terms of fashion and lifestyle/attitudes. Next step is the opening of a Creative Space with Kreon, in the center of Brussels. Everyone's welcome!
